Whole lotta nothin

It's been a while since the last post because, as the title states, a whole lotta nothin has happened. We've been getting much better at the job, and don't need as much time preparing as we did. That's really all I can say about the job right now...yah.

The weather here has turned rainy, since it's...ah...now rainy season. It'll rain off and on for the next 2 months then it'll dry up for winter. To fill up the free time we have at home, we've been watching all the tv shows that we've had piling for a while. Here's what we've watched so far:

-Scrubs -seasons 1-5
-24 -seasons 3-5 (presently watching season 5)
-Battlestar Galactica -Season 1 (waiting to watch S2 after 24 is done. Also this is the NEW series, not the 70's version)
-One Tree Hill -season 3 (Karleen watched it...I played video games)
-Clone High (we watch an episode every 4-5 days or so)

We've been HOOKED on 24 and Battlestar. Gord gave me the first season of Battlestar more than 2 years ago, and I don't know how we survived this long without watching it...it's fantastic! And 24, well...too good...although the 3rd season felt like 24 years, while season 4 was amazing.

I'll leave this useless post with a cute story. On Friday, I went to the grocery store in between classes, since we needed food badly. I was in my work clothes (plaid shirt, tie, black pants), wearing a back pack to bring the food back, and my mp3 player on my arm. I was walking down one of the isles when out of the corner of my eye, I see 2 little girls who had to be 3-6 years old, with their mom, staring at me with their mouths open. Totally adorable, right? It gets better. I continue to walk away, when I feel a poke on my leg. I turn around and there is the 2 little girls, smiling at me and wanting to play. For a couple of minutes I played "walk, walk, BOO!" with the youngsters. They were laughing like crazy. I made a circle around one of the isles and made it back to their mother. She was apologetic in a I hope they aren't bothering you way, which I showed it was quite alright. As their mother took them away, they screamed BYE BYE at the top of their lungs until I was out of sight. I had a smile on my face the rest of the time I was there. Too cute.

I suppose you have noticed my dirth of comments. They have changed all of our computers at work and we can only read your blog. I also can't see any videos. I've enjoyed reading all of your entries and the photos are great. Keep them coming. I'm glad you are enjoying yourselves and from what i've gathered the only trauma has either been insect or deer related. you had a bit of trouble finding your way around but minor. As soon as you learn to read and speak Japanese fluently you'll have that problem licked Ha Ha. Hope to talk to you soon.

Hello fellow Gajin living in Japan! We are friends of your friends (the Websters back home). Mel sent me a link to your blog so I've started reading it (hope you don't mind!) We just arrived in Japan about 1 month ago. Actually, I find the info about the Japanese drinks quite interesting because I'm not very adventurous at trying that kind of stuff so it's nice to have someone else be the guinea pig!

Also...my husband Ian and I were quite shocked by the eerie fact that you guys are hooked onto Battlestar Galactica too!! And to add to that...the irony of us all being from Edmonton and now living in Japan, what a strange coincidence! Right now we are anxiously waiting for our shipment of Season 2.5 to arrive from Amazon. My husband has seen the entire season but I have only seen half of it and the suspense is just about killing me!

Anyway, if you guys are ever in Tokyo, you're welcome to look us up. Cheers!

    Ariane and Ian Doktor :)
